Aircon Servicing Singapore 2026 Chemical Overhaul Explained
When normal aircon servicing is no longer enough
A Chemical Overhaul is a deeper cleaning service for a residential wall-mounted indoor aircon unit. It may be recommended when normal servicing does not resolve heavy dirt buildup, weak airflow, persistent odours or recurring water leakage caused by internal contamination.
It is not automatically required for every aircon. NewCool checks the unit condition first and explains the recommended work and price before starting.
What NewCool cleans during a Chemical Overhaul
The indoor unit is dismantled so major components can be cleaned more thoroughly than during routine servicing. Depending on the unit design and condition, this generally includes the evaporator coil, blower wheel, drain pan, filters, casing and accessible drainage components.
The unit is reassembled and tested after cleaning. If the technician finds a separate fault, refrigerant leak or damaged component, the additional work is explained and quoted before it begins.

- 1 residential wall-mounted indoor unit: $120
- 2 units or more: from $100 per unit
- Indoor units above 24,000 BTU: +$20 per unit
- No GST
- 60 Days Warranty for the Chemical Overhaul service
Repair work, leak repair and replacement parts are not included. They are quoted separately and will only proceed after the customer confirms the price.
Gas top-up is a separate service
When gas top-up is carried out together with a Chemical Overhaul, the special add-on price is $40-$80. This rate applies only as an add-on to Chemical Overhaul.
A standalone gas top-up is $150-$200. The final amount depends on the refrigerant type and the quantity required. Leak checking and leak repair are quoted separately. See the Aircon Gas Top-Up Singapore page for details.
Signs that deeper cleaning may be suitable
- Weak cooling or poor airflow after normal servicing
- Persistent musty odour
- Heavy visible dirt or mould buildup
- Recurring water leakage linked to dirt or drainage blockage
- A blower wheel or drain pan that cannot be cleaned properly through routine servicing
These symptoms can also have other causes. A Chemical Overhaul does not repair a refrigerant leak, electrical fault, failed motor, PCB or compressor.
What to confirm before booking
