Start with the symptom, not a guessed repair
Weak cooling, water leakage, unusual noise and an aircon that will not turn on can have several possible causes. A useful repair checklist records what is happening and helps the technician inspect the right areas before recommending work.
Before the appointment
- Note which indoor unit has the problem.
- Record when the symptom started and whether it is constant or intermittent.
- Take a photo or short video of leakage, an error code or unusual operation.
- Share the unit brand and model if visible.
- Clear safe access to the indoor and outdoor units.
- Keep earlier repair information available if the same problem has returned.
Safe checks for homeowners
- Check that the remote control settings are correct.
- Check whether the filter is visibly blocked with dust.
- Confirm whether other indoor units on the same system are operating normally.
- Look for a visible error code and record it.
Do not open electrical compartments, dismantle the unit or handle refrigerant lines. If water is reaching electrical fittings, there is a burning smell or the circuit repeatedly trips, switch the aircon off and arrange an inspection.
