Residential aircon problems can look similar even when the causes are different. Weak cooling may be linked to airflow, dirt buildup, icing, a component fault or a refrigerant issue. Water leakage may come from drainage blockage, heavy dirt, icing or installation and drainage conditions.

Common residential aircon problems
Aircon not cold
The technician may check airflow, unit condition, visible icing, operating symptoms and whether further troubleshooting is required. Gas top-up is recommended only after inspection.
Water leaking
Checks may include the drain pan, accessible drainage components, dirt buildup and signs of icing. Chemical Overhaul is recommended only when the unit condition requires deeper cleaning; it is not the correct solution for every leak.
Aircon not turning on or showing an error
Record the error code and describe what happened before the fault appeared. Repair work and replacement parts are quoted separately after inspection.
Unusual noise, smell or vibration
Stop using the unit if there is a burning smell, repeated electrical tripping or another immediate safety concern. Arrange an inspection instead of continuing to restart it.
NewCool checking fee
The checking fee is $50. If you proceed with the repair or replacement parts after receiving the quotation, the $50 checking fee is deducted from the repair bill. No GST.
The checking fee does not mean that every repair or replacement part is included. Additional work is explained and quoted before it begins.

Chemical Overhaul includes a 60 Days Warranty. Repair work, leak repair and replacement parts are quoted separately.
